Navy League Cadet Corps 193 Codiac was founded in 2000 by Lieutenant (N) Eric Hussey whom also served as our first Commanding Officer.
The origin of 193 Codiac’s Corps Crest:
Long before the white man came to North America, the site at a sweeping bend of the Peticodiac River, now called Moncton, was known to the Mi’Kmag (Micmac) People.
The Peticodiac, from the Mi’kmag “Pet-Koat-Kwee-ak” (The river that bends like a bow), provided a vital link for the aboriginal between New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
The green background signifies the forest from which the communities along the river were carved and ships were built. The wave represents the tidal bore that is a prominent feature of the Peticodiac River. The bow signifies the bend in the river.
