This rules must be followed by all cadets and parents while part of NLCC 193 Codiac

General Rules:

• Please be sure to look at all information so that cadets are properly dressed, prepared for the day’s activity and show up early.

• If your cadet is sick or they stay home sick from school, do not send them to any cadet activities.

• Activities are open to all cadets, unless otherwise indicated.

• NLCC 193 Codiac is not responsible for any lost or stolen items that cadets bring to any cadet activities.

• Do not drop off your cadet for an activity unless a Codiac staff member is present.

• If we do not have a current Medicare card or you have not told us why you cannot give us a copy of the new card your cadet will not be able to join us for activities outside of our Tuesday Night Training.

• School rules apply to all cadet actives (Example: Cadets are to wear clean indoor shoes, when they are told to wear sneakers).

• Parents must drop off and pick up their cadet at the times indicated in the emails and posted on Sway.

• Parents must respond by the due dates as stated in the emails that are sent out.

• Parents must agree to all agreements they sign while their cadet is part of NLCC 193 Codiac, such as the Uniform, Marksmanship, and Band agreements.

 

Cadet Attendance Rules:

• If we see a cadet being dropped off and an adult (18+) is not present with the cadet, we will call you to come pick up your cadet. This applies even if you live within walking distance of the activity. No exceptions.

• Parents must enter the building to drop off and pick up their cadet. 

• An adult (18+) must sign in all cadets they bring on Tuesday nights. If you do not sign the cadets in, it will be marked as an unexcused absence.

• If a cadet has below a 60% attendance for mandatory Tuesday nights and have any unexcused absences for any activities, they cannot attend any optional cadet activities. This includes, but is not limited to, activities such as Band, Marksmanship, Camps, Corps Parties, Corps Dinners, Other Outings, Etc. 

• Those cadets of parents that do not communicate about being absent will have their cadet marked as unexcused. When this happens, the cadet may not be able to participate in other activities outside of our mandatory Tuesday nights.

• If cadets are going to be late for any active other than Mandatory Tuesday Night Training, please return home. If you bring your cadet late to these activities you will be told to take them home. No exceptions.

• If cadets have been causing issues during cadet activities, are constantly late, or don’t show up to activities after they have been confirmed for the activities, they may be restricted from attending certain cadet activities or all optional cadet activities in the future.

• Please send an e-mail to nlcccodiac@navyleague.ca if your child will be absent from an activity. (Please have the date, name of the activity, and the cadet's full name in the email).

 

Cadet Uniforms Rules:

• If your cadet loses a part of their uniform or part of the uniform is damage due to negligence, parents will need to pay the full price of the uniform part before it will be replaced.

• For cadet name tags, if lost or damaged, parents will need to notify us if the parents want it replaced and we will order a new name tag the next time an order is put in. When we get the new name tag parents will be required to pay for it before your cadet will receive it.

• New cadet starting with us will normally get their uniform issued after they have been to a minimum of 4 Tuesday nights in a row and have an attendance rate above 60%.

• When you’re cadet is due to get their uniform issued, we will send you an email. You must on time for your appointment time or it will be canceled. Parents must communicate with us if things change.

• If you show up for your appointment after the "Uniform Issue Canceled" email is sent out you will be sent away

• If you are going to be late for the uniform appointment, you will need to let us know by emailing nlcccodiac@navyleague.ca and also reschedule the appointment.
