Promotional/Annual Ceremonial Review Drill Routine (Full)

Fall-in:

• Coxswain will call “193 Fall - IN”.

• Cadets will fall in for parade (Possibly 2 to 3 Divisions if corps is large enough (10 cadets per division minimum)). All cadets will be standing At Ease.

• Divisional Petty Officers (DPOs) and 2IC’s will help cadets as needed during the fall-in. After complete they will call “Alpha Division, Bravo Division or Charlie Division Atten - TION” and then “Alpha Division, Bravo Division or Charlie Division Stand at - EASE”. Now the DPOs will do an About Turn to face the Dais and wait for the Coxswain.

• When all DPOs are facing the Dais the Coxswain will ask the DPOs to report their Divisions. DPOs will tell the Coxswain how many cadets are on parade in their Division including themselves. Coxswain will call “193 Atten – TION”.

Right Dress:

• Coxswain will call “193 Right – DRESS”.

• Cadets will conduct a right dress with help from DPOs and 2ICs as needed.

• Coxswain will call “193 Eyes – FRONT” when Right Dress is completed.

• Coxswain will do an About Turn to face the Dais.

Report:

• Coxswain will call CO/XO. “Sir/Ma’am”

• (Done quietly between Commanding Officer (CO)/Executive Officer (XO) and Coxswain. CO/XO will go in front of Coxswain.

• Coxswain and CO/XO salute, Coxswain will take 1 step forward and tell the CO/XO the number of cadets on parade including himself/herself and the Regulating Petty Officer (RPO). CO/XO responds to Coxswain with “Very Good” and any other information needed. If CO/XO needs to pass on information to the cadets he/she will take command of the parade and do so.

• CO/XO will ask a chosen cadet to come to the front to conduct roll call. (All cadets will do this)

Roll Call:

• Cadet roll call will be conducted by a chosen cadet and the Coxswain will assist the cadet if needed. Cadet will call “193 Atten – TION” and then “193 Answer to Your Name Stand at - EASE”.

• All cadets will come to Attention and yell Sir/Ma’am when their name is called then go back to standing At Ease.

• When complete the CO/XO will tell the chosen cadet to fall back in and then the Coxswain and CO/XO will return to their positions. (CO/XO facing the Cadets and the Coxswain facing the CO.

• When all is complete the CO/XO will tell the Coxswain to “Carry On”.

• Coxswain will call “193 Atten – TION”

• Coxswain will take 1 step back. Coxswain and CO/XO salute. CO/XO will depart and Coxswain will do an About Turn to face the cadets.

Colours:

• Coxswain calls “Quarterdeck Fall – OUT”.

• Quarterdeck will fall out and take their places.

• Ensign will call “Colours, Sir/Ma’am”.

• CO/XO will respond with “Very Good”.

• Cadet on Bell will ding bell 2 times.

• Boatswain will pipe the Still. (8 second high note, all fingers closed)

• Coxswain, RPO, DPOs and Officers all salute while the Ensign raises the Canada Flag and O’Canada plays.

• After the Canada Flag is fully raised and the playing of O’Canada is done the Ensign will call “Carry on, Sir/Ma’am”.

• CO/XO will respond with “Carry On”.

• Boatswain will pipe the Carry On. (1 second high note followed by 1 second low note, last 3 fingers open)

• Coxswain, RPO, DPOs and Officers all stop saluting.

• Coxswain will call “Quarterdeck Fall – IN”.

• Quarterdeck will fall back into their places.

• Coxswain will call “193 Stand at -  EASE” and “193 Stand - EASY”.

• Coxswain will have all cadets do a quick squat.

• Coxswain will call “193”.

• Coxswain will call “193, Atten - TION”.

• Coxswain will than call “193 Open Order - MARCH”.

• Coxswain will about turn to face the dais.

Reviewing Officer Arrives (RO):

• The CO/XO will do this

General Salute:

• Once Reviewing Officer (Special Guest) reaches the dais the Coxswain will call “193 General Salute - SALUTE” (Coxswain, RPO, DPO’s, and 2ICs will salute).

• Coxswain will salute the RO and take 1 step forward.

Inspection:

• Coxswain will report corps to the Reviewing officer.

• (Done quietly between RO and Coxswain) RO will go in front of Coxswain.

• Coxswain will tell the RO the number of cadets on parade including himself/herself and the RPO and say 193 Ready for Inspection Sir/Ma’am. RO will respond to Coxswain.

• Coxswain will take a position to the right of the RO. The CO will take the position behind the RO.

• RO’s Biography will be read.

• Inspection music will start playing after the Biography.

• All DPOs will move and stand in front of their Right Marker, facing to the right of the Right Marker. The 2Ica will stay where they are.

• RO, CO and Coxswain will move to where the Division DPO is standing.

• Each DPO will salute the RO as they come up to them and say Alpha, Bravo, or Charlie-Division Ready for Inspection Sir/Ma’am.

• The DPO will move and take the position behind the Coxswain.

• The RO will start the inspection. The RO will inspect front and back of cadets in all ranks and may talk to some.

• When the RO finishes inspecting the division they will move to the 2ICs position. After the RO inspects the 2IC, the DPO will move and stand in front of the RO, listen to any comments the RO may have, salute, and dismiss them self and return to their position in front of their division. The DPO will then call Alpha, Bravo, or Charlie-Stand at - EASE” and Alpha, Bravo, or Charlie-Stand – Easy”.

• The DPO will have their Division do a quick squat, then call “Alpha, Bravo, or Charlie-Division”. (At this time all cadets in the division should be back to standing at EASE.

• Repeat this for each division as needed.

• RO, CO and Coxswain will move to where the RPO is standing. The RO will inspect the RPO. The RO may speak to RPO.

• When the inspection of all divisions and the RPO is complete the RO, CO and Coxswain will return to the front of the parade. The RO will inspect the Coxswain. The RO will speak to Coxswain about inspection.

• When the RO is done, the Coxswain will call “193 Atten - TION”

• Coxswain will take 1 step back. Coxswain will salute the RO. The RO and CO/XO will depart and Coxswain will do an About Turn to face the cadets.

• Coxswain will then call “193 Close Order - MARCH”.

March Past:

• Coxswain will call “193 Right - TURN”. Coxswain, DPO’s, 2ICs, and RPO will move to their marching positions.

• Coxswain will call “193 by the Center Quick – MARCH”. Cadet will start marching.

• Coxswain will call “193 Left – WHEEL” 2 times.

• Coxswain will call “193 Eyes – Right” right before he/she passes the dais. The Coxswain, DPO’s, 2ICs, and RPO are the only cadets that salute during the Eyes Right. All other cadets only turn their head to the right.

• As each DPO gets to the dais, they will call “Alpha, Bravo, or Charlie-Division Eyes – Right”.

• When the 2IC is past the dais they call “Alpha, Bravo, or Charlie-Division Eyes – Front”.

• Repeat this for each division as needed.

• After the RPO passes the dais they will call “193 Eyes – Front”.

• Coxswain will call “193 Left – WHEEL” 2 times and bring the cadets to the rear of the parade square.

• Coxswain will call “193 Mark-Time”. All cadets will continue to march on the spot. Try to have the corps start marking time with the dais centered on the corps.

• Coxswain will call “193 - HALT”. All cadets will halt.

• Coxswain will call “193 Left – Turn”. Coxswain, DPO’s, 2ICs, and RPO will move to their regular positions.

• Coxswain will call “193 Right – DRESS”.

• Cadets will conduct a right dress with help from DPOs and 2ICs as needed.

• Coxswain will call “193 Eyes – FRONT” when Right Dress is completed.

• Coxswain will do an About Turn to face the Dais.

Advance in Review Order:

• Coxswain will call “193 Will Advance in Review Order, By the Center Quick – MARCH”. All cadets will take a predetermined number of steps and halt in the center of the parade square. (Normally 3, 5 or 7 Paces)

• Coxswain will call “193 Right – DRESS”. (If needed)

• Cadets will conduct a right dress with help from DPOs and 2ICs as needed.

• Coxswain will call “193 Eyes – FRONT” when Right Dress is completed.

General Salute:

• Coxswain will call “193 General Salute - SALUTE” (Coxswain, RPO, DPO’s, and 2ICs salute).

• Coxswain will call “193 Open Order - MARCH”, “193 Stand at – EASE” and “193 Stand – Easy”.

• Coxswain will have all cadets do a quick squat.

• The RO may address the parade, CO/XO will speak and possibly other speeches.

• Coxswain will have all cadets do quick squats from time to time.

Promotions, Badges and Awards:

• Promotions/Awards would start at this time. When a cadet’s name is called for a promotion or award they will come to attention and yell Sir/Ma’am then march up to the dais. When all cadets for that promotion or award are called and at the dais they will all salute the presenting officer at the same time and when directed take one step forward. After a picture is taken the cadet will take one step back and wait for all cadets to get their pictures taken. When all cadets are back in line they will all salute the presenting officer at the same time, do a right turn, march back to their spots, stand at ease and stand easy.

• This will continue until all cadets have received their promotions/awards.

• At this time there will be other speeches, then the CO/XO will close this part of the ACR or Promotion Parade.

• Coxswain will call “193 Atten - TION”

• Coxswain will call “193 Close Order - MARCH”.

Dismiss:

• Coxswain will call “193 Dis - MISS”.

• Cadets will turn right, salute if in uniform and wearing head dress and march off to get their other ACR or Promotion Parade presentations ready to present. This may include Drill demonstrations, Band Performances, Tri-Fold Presentation, etc.
